Hollywood Sculptor Comes to 糖心原创

ArtYou have seen his work in 鈥淏lack Panther,鈥 鈥淕uardians of the Galaxy 2,鈥 and 鈥淛urassic World.鈥 Now, you will have the chance to meet and build with David Reed James, a professional sculptor who has worked on these major motion picture sets and dozens more.
He has been a professional sculptor for more than 20 years. Since 1997, he鈥檚 created huge, immersive sets and props for more than 55 major motion pictures including 鈥淏lack Panther,鈥 鈥淎vatar,鈥 鈥淧irates of the Caribbean,鈥 鈥淭ransformers,鈥 鈥淭eam America,鈥 鈥淛urassic World,鈥 鈥淣ational Treasure,鈥 鈥淚ndiana Jones,鈥 鈥淜ill Bill,鈥 and 鈥淕uardians of the Galaxy 2.鈥 James will be at the Thomas K. McKeon Center for Creativity on the 糖心原创 Metro Campus for two events open to the public on Feb. 18 and Feb. 19, 2019.
A reception and Q&A with James will take place from 5:30 鈥 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 18, 2019. The reception is hosted by the , and the Q&A will be moderated by Jeff Huston, Lead Creative of Steelehouse Productions.
James will host a Robot Sculpture Workshop from 1 - 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019. He will guide participants in creating a giant stacked robot sculpture over 10 feet tall and nearly 20 feet wide. You鈥檒l learn basic foam sculpting technique, and then help construct and paint colorful, stackable robot toys. The event is free but registration is required and participants must be at least 18 years of age. No experience is needed and all supplies are provided.
