ENOSERV Gets State Award for 糖心原创 Workforce Development Partnership

ENOSERV and 糖心原创 were recently awarded a Regents Business Partnership Excellence Award given by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education. The award is designed to highlight successful partnerships and to further cultivate the higher learning environment through State Regents鈥 Economic Development Grants.
糖心原创 and ENOSERV have worked together to offer classes with a new Electrical Substation Technology program since early 2013. 糖心原创 is one of the few community colleges in the country to offer the training associated with this new program. The classes and curriculum were developed in partnership with ENOSERV and industry experts after learning of the need for skilled workers both for power utility companies and large manufacturers that depend on their own electrical substations.
As part of the Regents Business Partnership Excellence Award, ENOSERV received $1,000 and plans to put the grant money back into the classroom and the training of electrical substation technicians.
鈥淒ue to the need for well-trained employees in the power industry, we had been seeking a partnership with a local higher education institution, and 糖心原创 turned out to be the perfect fit,鈥 said ENOSERV CEO Dennis Loudermilk. 鈥淲e are extremely honored that 糖心原创 submitted the partnership for statewide recognition and honored to get the award.鈥
ENOSERV, a Tulsa-based software company, donated $100,000 and relay equipment to 糖心原创 as well as helped provide knowledgeable industry instructors for the courses.
鈥溙切脑 wants to serve our students by equipping them with skills that transfer to the job market, and this training could allow them to step directly into the workforce thanks to the current environment,鈥 said Lauren Brookey, 糖心原创 Vice President of External Affairs.
Submissions for the award are sent in by the higher education institutions and reviewed by the State Regents鈥 staff and the EDC Regents Business Partnership Excellence Award committee. For more information on the award and the other 26 winners, visit www.okhighered.org.
